* A NOTE ON THE RECOMMENDED LECTIONARY VERSION:
In consultation with leaders of NALC, LCMC, CALC, and Lutheran CORE, Sola is recommending the use of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod version of the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), as found in the Lutheran Service Book (LSB), from Concordia Publishing House. Used with Permission. Lectionary inserts and other worship-support products produced by Sola Publishing will be based on this version of the RCL, rather than the ELCA version. (Go HERE to see a schedule of the texts for the year.)

Advent-Christmas Resources from Sola
Sola Publishing blessed to be able to serve congregations of Lutheran Core, NALC, LCMC, CALC, and others looking for solid, biblical materials to support education and worship in congregations. Sola has just released two new resources for congregations, written for the Advent and Christmas seasons.
The first is a simple booklet of Readings for the Lighting of the Advent Candles (go HERE). This simple booklet provides a brief reading, Scripture text, and song to accompany the lighting of the candles. It also suggests readings and prayers for the candle-lighting portion of a Christmas Eve candlelight service. The brief rites may be used for the worship services of a congregation or in family devotional settings. (5.5 x 8.5" Paperback booklet, 12 pages)
The second new resource is Sola’s Sunday Schoolhouse Christmas Program: Red Year (go HERE). Created to accompany the Red Year (Series B) materials in Sola Publishing’s Sunday Schoolhouse series, but it may be used as a stand-alone resource for use with children in any congregation. Patterned after the style of a traditional Advent-Christmas recitation program, it focuses on the coming of the Messiah, foretold by the prophets, and how God fulfilled his word in Jesus, with children reading selections from the Old and New Testament Scripture that convey the promise of Jesus’ birth. It is intentionally simple and “generic” — allowing for modifications and additions according to local custom, but focusing on the primary function of telling the story of Scripture. (5.5 x 8.5" Paperback booklet, 12 pages)
(Purchase of these items includes permission to photocopy pages for use in local congregations)
