Earlier this week we posted a story about challenges facing certain Oromo Evangelical Lutheran congregations, based on information provided by those involved.
We continue to believe in the accuracy of what was described in the story. But, at the subsequent request of some of those involved, we have now removed the story to provide "breathing space" for private deliberations and discussions by African immigrant congregations and their leaders.

The great deceiver is at work in all of this...this is spiritual battle and we must remember how the other side works...power, control, lie, mislead, confuse. What did Martin Luther do? Speak the Truth as the Holy Spirit through Scripture s...howed him. What did Bonhoeffer do? Speak the Truth as the Holy Spirit through Scripture showed him. We are the heirs of that great heritage...and yes there is a cost to discipleship but let us rejoice for our reward is great. This is THE MOMENT for our generation to stand up and speak out against the false gospels of this age. God and the saints are watching and rooting us on. The Holy Spirit is our Helper and ready to give us assistance at a moment's notice. The enemy understands that...and knows when WE understand and DO just that he and his minions are toast. Since August 2009, some fail here beacause too many are in love with the buildings of the church and the "security" of the church, and their "friends"..I speak here to Indiana ELCA members especially. We all are accountable for our actions and inactions and in the associations we keep. God is in command on EARTH as He is in Heaven, thank God :>)
Continue to fast and pray for the Oromo sisters and brothers.
